JAH Gallery is proud to present Swollen Void a solo exhibition by Iranian artist Hossein Shenavar, marking the artist’s first institutional presentation in Beirut.

Spanning oil paintings and mixed-media sculptures, Swollen Void unveils Shenavar’s latest body of work a surreal, tactile, and deeply psychological universe where crowned figures emerge swollen in form and hollow in spirit. Through grotesque beauty and symbolic density, Shenavar confronts the fragility of identity, power, and memory.

Working across Tehran for over two decades, Shenavar has exhibited in major Iranian institutions and biennials, with a practice deeply anchored in both material experimentation and conceptual resonance. This exhibition marks an important moment in the artist’s international trajectory and JAH Gallery’s commitment to dialoguing with contemporary voices from the region.
