Biography

Yasser Hammoud

Yasser Hammoud was born in Tartous, Syria, in 1963. He studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Damascus, graduating in 1987 from the Department of Interior Architecture. He later pursued advanced studies in Earth Art and mural painting, continuing until 1990. Hammoud is a member of the Syrian Plastic Artists Union. With a diverse artistic practice that spans painting, photography, poster design, and architectural murals, Hammoud has made significant contributions to the visual and cultural landscape in Syria and the Arab world. His work has been recognized with numerous local and regional awards, and in 2014, he was listed among the “100 Most Powerful Arabs” by Arabian Business. His art is held in prominent public and private collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in Damascus, the Waqif Museum of Fine Arts in Doha, various Syrian embassies worldwide, and numerous private collections.
